TWINGHY partners contribute to IFRF Industrial Combustion Training 2026 – Registration still open!

The International Flame Research Foundation (IFRF) is organising its next Industrial Combustion Training on 25–26 November 2026 in France, with the involvement of TWINGHY partners Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) and Fives.

Organised in cooperation with the French Flame Research Committee, the two-day course will take place at ENGIE Lab CRIGEN, in Stains, near Paris. Following the March 2025 edition, the training will cover topics ranging from industrial combustion fundamentals to advanced modelling methods, including hydrogen integration and low-carbon fuel strategies.

Alongside the technical presentations, participants will take part in practical sessions, including experiments with a natural gas/hydrogen/air burner and a demonstration using ENGIE Lab CRIGEN’s 500 kW semi-industrial test furnace.

The programme addresses several topics relevant to TWINGHY’s work on hydrogen combustion in steel reheating furnaces and the development of digital twin technologies.

Daniel Mira, from TWINGHY partner Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), will contribute to the programme on 25 November with a session entitled “Towards the modelling and simulation of turbulent reactive flows”.

Another member of the TWINGHY consortium, Sébastien Caillat from Fives, is Vice-President of IFRF and Chair of the French Flame Research Committee. Their involvement provides another opportunity to connect TWINGHY’s work with the wider industrial combustion community.

Registration is still open, with participation limited to 20 attendees.

The course is aimed at engineers, researchers, PhD students and technical managers interested in developing their knowledge of industrial combustion.
